Briefly explain how friction lowers the efficient of a machine. Explain why water is not used as thermometric liquid.

- It has high heat capacity
- Its expansion is non-linear
- it shows anomalous expamsion; i.e. It expands on cooling at a certain temperatures
- It is transparent/colourless
- It sticks to the sides of glass.(It wet glass)
- It is a bad conductor of heat.
